The Reality gap index
More Info
The Reality Gap Index (RGI) reflects the relationship between how capable you believe you are and how closely your training mirrors the realities of violent confrontation.
Understanding your score can help you:
- Identify potential blind spots before they matter
- Avoid false confidence or unnecessary self-doubt
- Target training more precisely
- Track whether changes in training are improving real-world readiness
How to Read Your Score
A lower RGI suggests that your training, confidence, and expectations are closely aligned.
A higher RGI suggests a larger gap between how you train and how you believe you would respond under pressure.
Importantly, a higher score does not mean failure — it simply indicates where focused, realistic training may have the greatest impact.
